Sasso del Ferro peak, accessible by cable car for truly exceptional views, rises from the centre of pretty Laveno Mobello, on the banks of Lake Maggiore. The cable car takes 15 minutes to get to just short of the peak of Sasso del Ferro for wonderful views over Lake Maggiore, the Alps, the foothills, the Lombard lakes and the Po plains.
