From the Castle to the Hermitage

This exceptional route touches on some of the most enchanting places on Lake Maggiore’s Costa Fiorita. From the majestic Rocca di Angera, it passes vineyards and hills, and the Brebbia and Cardana Pipe Museum, and continues to Eremo di S. Caterina del Sasso, Lake Maggiore’s most famous religious building, perched on a cliff in Leggiuno. The way back is along the lake and passes through parks, marinas, and villages to Ispra and the Golfo di Quassa. After taking photos of Sasso Cavalazzo, we continue through Ranco and Angera to visit their historic centres.
