Basso Olona Amidst the Woods of Pineta Park

Just above Busto and Legnano, there are many millstones and mills, the area’s first rural economic activities associated with the use of water during the Middle Ages. The following route winds through this area. The starting point is Fagano Olona and its beautiful park by the river, from which a visit to the castle in the village above is possible.
From Fagnano to Pineta Park – a nature area of great interest – the route descends to the Rugareto wood and continues to Aironi Park in Gorla Minore and up along the River Olona. This route alternates cycle paths, dirt roads, and wood trails, avoiding main roads as much as possible.
