At 1125 metres above sea level, Mount Piambello is part of the Varese Alpine foothills and situated between Lake Ghirla and Lake Maggiore. It is volcanic in origin.
Like Mount Orsa and Pravello, Mount Piambello is also of interest for its Cadorna Line ruins dating to the Great War.
